Many of the most beautiful living spaces in the world are right on the water, and the most enduring architecture is
one that is in perfect harmony with its environment.
Out on the curve of the Palm Beach peninsula, with views that
stretch across Pittwater and Careel Bay, the Boatshed is such a place.
These inspirational apartments created by
Parkview are extraordinarily spacious and sensitively designed by acclaimed architect Walter Barda with interiors enhanced
by Thomas Hamel to complement the stunning beauty of the location.
Walter Barda’s work is well known along the Palm Beach coastline, having designed several award-winning properties nearby. Drawing on the historical maritime character of this very special site, the architect has incorporated the area’s nautical past into its very heart and bones.
Few places offer such unspoilt and beautiful surrounds, just an hour’s drive from one of the world’s great cities.
Few places are designed with such care,
such inspiration, and such beauty.
Within and without there are many curvaceous elements, which are beautifully and perfectly formed.
They elevate the overriding sensuality of the design almost into the realm of dreams.
Some elements appear to be knots in rope, others like curling sea snakes tracing their way up curves in the stairwells.
Recycled blackbutt floors suggest
the resilient beauty of a boat deck. So too does the copper detailing, and the rich patina that is formed by contrasting palettes
of lustrous and highly-varnished timbers against the raw beauty of natural, rough-hewn wood.
The expansive use of sandstone, rough-cast cement renders, and textural elements such as shells and coral-like aggregates, further exudes the area’s history and setting.
Throughout the project is a real showcase for high-quality joinery and timber detailing. It has been put together with great care and attention to detail and incorporates many authentic shipbuilding techniques.
This is where you live. Right on the water.
Out of the blue you can let your imagination set sail. Here, every day is a journey of discovery. The apartments,
so close to the beachfront, seem to float towards the view. And you feel
far removed from the pace of the city.
Before you is Snapperman Beach. Its fine, golden sands but a breath away. Further, out to sea, is the great Pacific Ocean.
The rollers have pushed their way from distant America to arrive here on our eastern coast before readying for the return journey. Straight ahead are the smooth sparkling waters of Pittwater and Careel Bay. Its sheltered bays and inlets a haven for sailors and daytrippers alike.
Just behind you is the splendid arch of the famous Palm Beach, fluffed up thick with brightest gold sand where lifesavers sit knees-up, on the beach. Watch the boats. Gaze out to sea.
The yachts sketch across the water, their wakes rippling white lines across the water. Glimpse the silver shadows of the fish as they dart this way, then that. From your window, at Snapperman Beach, the swimmers splash about in the tide, waist-deep in the belly waves. Straight ahead, way across the bay, the distant bushland of Kuringai-Chase National Park fades to pale blue-green, then grey, in the haze of the strong midday sun.
From out on the bay, you hear the burr of the sailboats as the racing sails go up, quick as opening your hand. Trace the paths of the boats as they peel the water in the bright, glittering light of the afternoon. The silver-white gulls soar above as the yachts below tack from port to starboard.

Down by the sea , here on the water’s edge, the beach, the distant bushland, Pittwater and the great Pacific
Ocean beckons. Palm Beach, with Barrenjoey to the north, the surf to the right, and Pittwater before you –
it’s a magnificent feeling, with all the sun and air one could long for.
These homes are a retreat. A paradise.
A romance. A place that’s different. Not city. Not country. A beach house that feels like its own island. And all just
an hour’s drive from Sydney.
Palm Beach is a place of high skies, sapphire water, and soft orange sunsets.
Beyond your home a wide, fi ne-sand beach slopes gently towards the horseshoe of Careel bay. Big blue water. Big blue
skies. Truly beautiful beaches. The lapping sounds of the water. It’s a simple image of happiness. It’s idyllic. Vivid.
And so full of life. This is one of Australia’s most desirable beach locations.
